At Jagwire, it’s important to us that we support the sport of cycling. But, when evaluating partnerships we look for teams and athletes whose goals are often larger than competition itself. For us it’s about the added contributions these teams or individual athletes are making to our society. Below are examples of some of the athletes and teams we’re proud to support.

Vanderkitten Racing
The Vanderkitten Elite Women’s Cycling Team consists of 8 - 10 elite athletes and a squad of developmental riders who compete in a variety of cycling disciplines all across the United States. As a not-for-profit organization the team is focused less on racing results and more on promoting women’s cycling. www.vanderkitten.com

Velo Bella
The Velo Bella mission is to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle through cycling and laughter. We inspire women to get out and ride a bike, race a bike, and to eventually grow the pool of talent and have a lot of fun along the way. While the core Velo Bella Team is a committed group of female racers, membership includes female cyclists interested in completing their first race, century, or even group ride. www.velobella.org

Hypercat Racing
Hypercat Racing is a multi-sport coaching and consulting team.  We specialize in cycling and running, offering private, group and on-line coaching. Hypercat welcomes all ability levels, but seeks to partner with athletes who are committed to achieving their goals. www.hypercatracing.com

Rachel Sears
Rachel is a professional triathlete with over 18 years of athletic experience under her belt dating back to her teenage days as a runner. A native of New York, Rachel now lives and trains in sunny California. A true ambassador for the sport, Rachel is part owner in Hypercat Racing which seeks to enroll more people into both the fun and competitive sides of triathlons. www.rachelsears.com

Americas Dairyland
The team's mission is to promote Wisconsin milk products. Each team member will visit a Wisconsin grade school to talk with kids about good nutrition and eating for daily life and competition. "Young people very active in different sports may not always get good information on how to eat properly. The neat thing about the women's cycling team is they are literally mobile and can go all over the state as role models. We are aiming to give the young people we visit in schools a chance to visit with real life athletes who can share how they eat to stay healthy and compete," said Laura Wilford of the Wisconsin Dairy Council. www.americasdairyland.com

Abercrombie & Fitch Pro Development Cycling Team (Inferno Racing)
Inferno Racing is a not-for-profit entity established to groom and support top level endurance athletes within a regional, national and international environment. The company and its athletes are also committed to raising awareness and monies for selected charities throughout the year. Our mission is to fill the void between the upper echelon of professional sports and the eilte amateur ranks. The program hopes to establish a balance for young and developing talent through mentoring, coaching, monetary support and quality competition. www.infernoracing.org

Katie Compton
Katie Compton specializes in cyclocross racing and is the current women’s USA Cycling Cyclocross National Champion. In 2007 she became the first American woman to podium in the Cyclocross World Championships where she won silver. In Paralympic events she rides a tandem with a blind partner Karissa Whitsell. Katie, the sighted team member, pilots and pedals the tandem in the captain position while Karissa rides in the rear, stoker, position on their tandem. They were dominant in the 2004 Games, winning medals in every event they entered and setting a world record in the 3 km pursuit event.
